The Story of Always On The Move

always on the move

Always On The Move started in 2017 as a series of little sketches after my return from a 6 months study abroad on the beautiful island of Bali followed by a trip to Australia. I had tried surfing for the first time and instantly caught the spark. When I was back home in landlocked Austria all I could think about was to find a way back to the waves and make money while traveling.

I finished my bachelor in Architecture and went back to Bali with a work-away job doing graphic design for a small family owned business. On the side I kept practising sketching and painting and kept my sketchbook as a travel diary – capturing special places and memories.

A few months later I sold my very first artwork in Bali, actually the day before flying to Australia. This encouraged me to keep going and so while doing many odd jobs, to keep myself afloat I put myself out there and offered my work to restaurants, bars and cafés. Slowly finding my style and getting more confident with what I was doing.

Looking back, my artwork has sparked so many interesting conversations and I have met very inspiring people along the way. I have worked for and collaborated with businesses, as well as have had exhibitions in Austria, Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Portugal. While Always On The Move is still a small business and doesn’t bring a full time income the projects full-fill me, allow my creative soul to unfold and I’m excited for whats to come!

This creative journey as well as learning how to surf and to spend time in the ocean has taught me more than studies ever could. I’m grateful for my family, friends and everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way and the opportunity to share my artwork with the world.

With sunshine and love,
